Look. This place ain't about atmosphere. The raw oysters were delicious. Had the blacked trio (scallops, oysters, crab cake) and it was delicious. Clam chowder was excellent. As far as small town fare goes, this place is a gem.

I would like to say my family and I enjoyed this place because the staff was very nice, however not the case. Without getting into to much detail the food is really bad. We were the only table in the restaurant. I would really be surprised if this place is in business 3 months from now.

Four of us with three children had dinner here. The food...awesome! The fried chicken was definitely the group favorite. The wait staff was understaffed, so the waitress was completely overwhelmed. Can't fault here, that's a management problem. But, it seemed everybody from the cook on down pitched in to keep the place moving. The building needs a refresh and a good steam cleaning (smells a little), but overall for Crystal River...good food on the cheap if you can deal with the downsides.

First time there. Food was wonderful and nicely presented. Nice variety on the menu. Owner and server were so pleasant and friendly! We will definitely go back!

The menu looks very promising and it has pretty affordable prices. However, they are in actuality way overpriced. The mullet dip was good, and the French onion soup was good. It took over an hour for us to get our food even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. My salad originally came with American cheese...Yep you read that correctly. The grilled chicken was freezing cold! After we left I was legitimately afraid I would get food poisoning.

Just hired William (Oysters) for a party for my 93 yr old Grama Dot, and it was great! We want to thank William and the crew for making all of Miss Dots favorites and the generous quantity will last several til mid week. LOL I HAVE NEVER HAD A HUSH PUPPY AS GOOD IN MY LIFE. Fish, Chicken and all the fixings were perfect!!!!

Very nice people work and own here. Food is like home cooking and plenty of it.. Place has been here for a long time and kinda looks it but also kinda adds to the "old Florida" feel of the place. Been a few times and will be back..Great food, good prices and friendly ..

Great southern food. Homemade cole slaw, hush puppies and fried chicken were fantastic. Some of the best fried chicken my hubby ever ate. I had a baked Potato and the yummy hushpuppies and slaw. Will try the banana pie next time

Oysters of Crystal River is one of the last real Deep South Southern Cooking Resturants in Florida. William & Pam Bunch are your host and hostest, both have a southern charm that warms my heart. Everytime I stop by to fill my belly I leave stuffed and wanting more. The next time your in Crystal River I strongly suggest to stop by, fill your belly and say hi. This is a must "Eat Here" Location! DiscoverCitrusCounty.com

I eat here on a regular basis. The fried grouper sandwich is excellent and if you prefer have it blackened for a real dinner treat. I like local, southern food so I eat the mullet. It is caught fresh locally and I prefer it deep fried. Ask for Amy and let her tell you what is fresh that day!

Just had dinner here while vacationing in crystal river. Had raw oysters, grouper, country fried steak, gator tail bites and some awesome desert with bananas and dulce de leche. Everything was delicious! I was with some family from Florida and they said it was just like old time Florida cooking. Thanks Chef Willie!

Stopped on a Friday for the fish fry special. The fish was quite good and the spicy gumbo was too. The rest was adequate, but very bland. The cocktail sauce had no hint of horseradish or lemon. Coleslaw was fresh but tasteless, fries were soggy. The oysters tasted lousy compared to the great ones we got in Georgia.

Oysters is a very unique business and is worth a trip just for the experience. As I understand it, the husband in the operation is the chef, and the wife is the server. That is about it, and I believe it as during my two visits I've only seen one server, and the food is kind of slow to come out even with few tables. However, slow food is always worth it if it's good. I have gotten chicken parmesan both times (so sue me) and although the portion is kind of small for the price they do it quite well. Even though Oysters is obviously a seafood restaurant, I think both times I've been everybody has gotten a poultry dish because numerous fried chicken varietals are their specialty. I haven't had it, but the fried chicken dinner is huge, hunking portions of appetizing looking chicken. The inside is definitely kitschy, but it is certainly one of the better dining options in Crystal River.

I visit Crystal River often to visit relatives - William Bunch's oyster's is my very favorite place in Crystal River. William is always so gracious and welcoming. Everything served here is terrific but my very favorite is the grouper Reuban sandwich. I've gotten here twice this visit and am already planning the next time. You will love this place

We tried the sampler platter. It had fried oysters, crab cakes, shrimp and mozzarella cheese sticks. Everything was really good. It's more a local restaurant, which we liked. Definately will go back!!

Yes it has a seafood name and focus, and the fish and shrimp we had here were quite good. The hush puppies were so moist and good. HOWEVER, get the fried chicken! It was so perfectly coated, but not overly breaded. Flavorful and not too salty. Delicious! The Sunday buffet is a steal at $11.95 (it includes your drink).

We walked in the door...We walked out the door...Enough Said! Walked in the door. The place was empty. The pissed off waitress said we would have to wait a few minutes so she could get the back room ready for our party of 14. The Restraunt was EMPTY!!! We left!
